random stone wall

This garden was designed and built by our landscapers in heapey, chorley to create two usable levels, a patio area and a lawned area.

The wall is a retaining wall that holds back the weight if the soil and land behind it. The first skin in made using concrete block designed to be weight bearing. It was then faced using a natural sandstone of different sizes. It was then built up in a random pattern, hence-ransom stone wall. Finally it was capped off using the same flag as was used for the patio to tie the two features together.

The steps were also built by our landscapers using the same method of random stone walling and using the flags as the top surface.

This method of construction was decided upon due to the style of the property and the way that was built. The outcome was that the garden became an extension of the house.

The patio area is Indian stone(raj green) layed in a random pattern by our landscapers. This is also a natural product that blends well with the stonework.
