raised planting bed

Random stone walling, Leyland, Lancashire.

Random stone walling was used to create a large, raised bed suitable for planting. We used a natural sand stone that worked well with the other natural products we used throughout the garden (Indian Stone).

Due to the weight of the soil behind the wall it had to be supported using a retaining wall, constructed using concrete block. By doing this it makes the whole structure strong and durable.

The wall was capped using half a ring taken from an Indian stone circle.

It was planted with a cottage garden theme, using varying heights, colour and texture to give charactor and charm.
